Celebrating Local Artists Live

Buzz / Celebrating Local Artists Live

Ohanga is a mission driven start-up, supporting Rhode Island artists by sharing their stories. Starting May 2021, the company’s Newport art store is home to a series of live videos with local artists. Located in the Brick Marketplace, Ohanga Newport is helping local shoppers see art up close and personal and so much more.

Local Artists on Social Media

The pressure to present to social media is a reality facing all artisanal small businesses. The time it takes to grow an audience is a considerable investment. Even with an existing viewer base, timelines across all social media channels are bloated, leaving creatives torn between creating art and working for their crafts to be recognized. Through Ohanga, local artists are promoting their brand while not sacrificing the time it takes to pursue artistic endeavors.

Live, Local Artists

Instead of looking for your local artists and RI crafters, Ohanga is bringing them to you. Handmade art is all around us, but in the process of moving product in an oversaturated market, the story of local creatives is often lost. Ohanga Live is breathing life back into the arts by putting the focus back where it belongs: on the creatives.

Meet your Local Artists

The best way to learn about creating art is to hear from the creatives themselves. Even in the era of art revitalization, local artists are drowned out by the noise. The best way to combat this is to use technology for good. Ohanga live is overcoming obstacles like time and distance to bring creativity closer to you. So pull up a chair and get ready to meet your local creatives.

We envision a world in which creatives can grow and share their passions unburdened from the complexity of business management; a world where a community can easily access art for sale as well as celebrate and engage with their local artists.
