Ohanga Team Fall Favorites

It’s that time of year when we get crispy auburn leaves, cooler weather, and all things pumpkin. Fall is here, which means seasonal favorites are back for the meantime. Ohanga’s market has the best seasonal items crafted by local Rhode Island artists and artisans. The team at Ohanga has put together some of our favorite fall items and why we love them.

Margherita’s fall favorite: Karen Tellier’s Pumpkin Crystal Soap.

Why we love it: “The Pumpkin with Carnelian Crystal Soap is great for the fall because even though everyone says to wash your hands frequently, it's really easy to forget,” Margherita said. “But this pumpkin scented body product makes it a fun experience you're more likely to remember! It's like a pumpkin spice latte for your hands.” Karen’s soaps are available online and at our Newport store.

Erica’s fall favorite: Julie Hankin’s Eco Print Silk Scrunchie

Why we love it: “The most important part of fall to me is admiring the way the leaves are changing colors,” Erica said. “Julie Hankin’s eco print scrunchies immortalize that feeling. They are handmade to be super soft and make great gifts because they go well with a fall wardrobe.” Julie’s eco print scrunchies are available online and at both of our stores.

Aya’s fall favorite: Scott Simmons’ “October Sunset” Matted Print

Why we love it: “This is one of my favorite fall prints,” Aya shared. “I love how it captures the last golden glow of light before sundown, and how the shadows of the chairs on the frame of the house evoke in me a certain feeling of nostalgia. It reminds me of the preciousness of sunlight in autumn as days become shorter and cooler and brings to mind memories of sitting on my childhood front porch, watching the evening spread itself across the scenery.” Scott’s prints are available online and at our Newport store.

Why we love it: “These earrings are a dark, spooky green and pair perfectly with my more fall inspired outfits and complement my more festive earrings,” Margaret shared. Christine’s earrings are available online and at our Newport store.

Sofia’s fall favorite: Kingshuk Bose’s print titled “The Untrodden Path.”

Why we love it: “I love this because I feel like it paints a beautiful image of what fall looks like to me,” Sofia said. “It’s warm, inviting, and so cozy.” Kingshuk’s prints are available online and at our Newport store—he also has metal printed photography at both of our stores.

Caroline’s fall favorite: Maya Cordeiro’s Fall Oranges Towel

Why we love it: “Maya’s handwoven, fall-orange towel is a perfect fall accent for anywhere around your home,” Caroline said. “This cotton towel will surely add a pop of color and warmth to your kitchen, bathroom, or wherever you see fit.” Maya’s towels are available online and at both of our stores.
