CRANSTON, RHODE ISLAND USA—20 September 2021—Ohanga™ Inc. has continued its mission of celebrating creativity with the opening of a new home goods store in Garden City, Rhode Island. The Garden City location marks the second storefront for Ohanga, opening just four months after their initial location in Newport.

The success of the Newport art store and a consistently growing customer base inspired the additional retail space for Ohanga. Relying heavily on storytelling, Ohanga’s storefronts reconnect people with their local creative economy. These in-person experiences carry the same types of home goods, apparel, and accessories that you can find at national-brand stores, while also providing shoppers with the ability to access the life stories of creatives and Rhode Island artists

Ohanga believes that the important things in life should come from the makers and recognizes the need to continue to support small businesses as we progress out of the COVID-19 Pandemic. The Garden City store will combine both of these missions by showcasing a curated selection of indie crafts from Ohanga’s New England local artists and artisans. The items range from sustainable home and living to jewelry and apparel as well as fine art. Each physical storefront is an important step in re-educating consumers on the significance of handmade and locally sourced products.
